I was reading an obituary in the New York times that this woman died. She was editor of NY magazine, an avid congo drummer and later i learned was in a rock and roll band. She died of a rare blood disease.. I was struck by her job and that among all that she did as a journalist, writing for the village voice and rolling stone, she was a conga drummer too and belonged to drumming circles. That seemed to add some humanity to her obituary. she was 56 years old.
