Natalie Merchant performs free at the Poets House grand opening

Singer Natalie Merchant and more than a dozen famous poets will celebrate the grand opening of the new Poets House in Battery Park City today. Merchant will perform poetry-inspired songs. Acclaimed poets Galway Kinnell, Billy Collins, Quincy Troupe, Philip Levine, Marie Howe and Mark Doty will be among the many who will read poetry.
This free event will take place on the front “lawn” of the Poets House, a 50,000 volume library and library center, that opens its beautiful new digs in Battery Park City today.
When: Saturday, September 25, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM
Where: The Pavilion at Nelson A. Rockefeller Park
