This weeks Village Voice had a full page advertisement that said:
"on my seventy-second birthday I sent you love
The Twentieth Century was a century in which human experiement in cruelty reached a height. We as the human race are wise enough to not have to be cruel to each other anymore. Still, the tremendous anger for each other and the resulting need to be cruel to one another was passed on to us from the prior centuries and acted on repeatedly, in fact, we created the most savage century in the history of the human race, as if to prove to our fathers how much better we could be in tbeir game. We are all suffering it's consequence.
Let's wake up to the fact that our anger is an inherited emotion, and the resulting cruelty is also what we are learned from our ancestors who expressed violence as bravery. Lets wake up to the fact that we are not them, that we dont have to prove our bravery by being cruel to each other. Once we realize it, it is very easy to release our anger and free ourselves from the vicious cycle of anger and abuse, and destruction. We should not waste our time in repeating what was them, and lead our own lives, the live we really want and deserve a life of love, joy and lots of fun.
We are still steeped in the heavy psychodrama created by our ancestors, we cant see our own reality. Our reality is very different from theirs. With so many recent discoveries made by our scienctists, all of use are more able to have a life of healthy, youth and joy if we focus our attention and energy on it. Our ancestors were never able to have what we have now. Lets not let the memory of their suffering lives control us and be repeated by us.
